What is digital circuit design?
Computer systems built into home appliances, industrial equipment, vehicles, etc., to achieve specific functions are called embedded systems.
Compared to a typical computer, it takes a variety of shapes, weights, and performance, and develops not only software but also hardware.
LSI such as a microcomputer and a sensor is mounted on a part of the hardware part called a digital circuit, and the function is realized by controlling it with software.
LSIs may be commercially available, but new LSIs may be required to achieve their own specific functions.
In this case, you can either manufacture a custom LSI called ASIC or use a rewritable LSI called FPGA.
Although ASICs are beneficial in reducing costs during mass production, development takes time.
FPGA has advantages such as being able to reduce initial cost and development period, and being able to add functions even after manufacturing hardware, taking advantage of the fact that it can be rewritten.
The internal functions of ASIC and FPGA are composed of logic circuits, and the process of designing and implementing them is called digital circuit design or logic circuit design.
